Indy 2023 Roundtable Recap

Our October 2023 Roundtable was jam packed with educational and networking opportunities. The team just keeps stepping it up a notch! The Bottleworks hotel did not disappoint with its swanky vibe and classic retro feel. The history of the building and the old-style Coca-Cola bottles at every turn sealed the nostalgia. We showered members with some Member’s Only Yetis to make their morning coffee last a little bit longer for those long HR days in the office.

Members presented Best Practices with their fellow members. We heard from Brandon Poole, Chief HR Officer at Genesis as he shared his best Practice for Internal Float Pools; Wayne Mackey, Chief HR Officer at Vibra Healthcare with his best practice for International Nurses; Jeremy Monroe, Vice President of Human Resources for HCF Management shared his best practice for Leadership Development; and on day two we heard from Jack West, Vice President of HR of Southern Healthcare as he presented his best practice on Reimaging Light Duty. We heard from member Matt Doss who shared an Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) update and had a lively discussion regarding a possible pharmacy coalition for the group from Nick Porter and Dustin Jones. Big things are on the horizon for our members.

Members enjoyed a Happy Hour sponsored by PTO Exchange followed by a member’s dinner across the way at the Bottleworks District Garage Food Hall! We celebrated Peter Corless, EVP of Enterprise Development for OnShift on his recent retirement announcement and presented our first TIME Award to thank him for his two decades of support for the Roundtable.

We covered topics such as Employee’s First’s innovative way for employers to

redirect surplus employee-paid dollars in voluntary benefits, back to the employees; staffing solutions from Onshift & Shiftkey; affordable surgery and prescription drugs from Price MDs; and PTO Exchange shared its revolutionary solution that helps employee use their PTO creativity while employers can reduce balance sheet liability.

We added some educational sessions to the mix this Roundtable as a value-add for members. We brought in a Financial Adviser from Strategic Wealth Specialists to share some financial planning tips with members and meet one-on-one as a member benefit. USI’s Tom Hurley, presented on developing an effective Compensation Design Program. Wrapping our discussions up we had the University of West Florida, College of Business present a strategic opportunity for a Leadership Development Program designed specifically for HR Professionals and developed with the assistance of the Executive HR Roundtable as a joint venture.
